Okay... this was MUCH better in my head! It took a lot of work and yet turned out pretty weird.
Basically it was supposed to be an Easter Basket with flowers... I tried carving out a cucumber, and making a flower radish. I had some turkey lunch meat that I cut out with the my tiny cutters as well.
So here it is.
My daughter, who was studying Sacajawea, asked if it had something to do with her, and then a friend on Facebook asked if it was one of those baby carriers as well. Ah well...

Lamb
No, they don't get lamb for lunch... but there is a rice shaped lamb for lunch!
Shaped rice into balls, cut the turkey ham into the shapes, and the nori faces last night before bed, and put it all together this morning in their lunch boxes. Such a cute little lamb!

Simple rice bunny I made from rice and turkey ham. The rice ball head has a piece of hidden turkey ham in it!

Vampire
My ten year old has been begging for a vampire lunch. She is planning to be a vampire for Halloween (and not the sparkling kind), so wanted a lunch to reflect that. I made them brainstorm to come up with something, and here is the finished product.
Rice, nori for hair, olives, turkey ham and ketchup.

Heart sushi
My son saw some heart sushi in one of the books I got from the library and really really wanted to make it. I had never made sushi in my life so making heart-shaped sushi seemed daunting. Well, he read the instructions and went to work. I helped with the cutting but he did most of the rest himself. This sushi had turkey ham, cucumber and rice.
I also tried to make some sugar and cinnamon tortillas. That didn't really work out so well. Side of carrots, apples as usual and a little note.
It is starting to stay dark longer in the mornings... hard to get very good pictures with the dark and my fluorescent lighting.

Singing in the Rain
"From where I'm standing, the sun is shining all over the place!" I will admit I'm a bit of a romantic (okay, more than a bit) and the fall rains are upon us... I must start thinking positive or it will be a long winter! Did you know that the directors of Singin' in the Rain
added milk to the rain so it would show up on camera?
Turkey ham I cut into shape with a knife, nori dots, brown rice with sesame oil and flax seeds. Side of cantaloupe balls, strawberries, apples, and a sesame seed treat.

Presents in Worms
My son named this one "Presents in Worms". I'm not really sure where I was going with this or why, just trying to do something with the gluten free spaghetti and leftover turkey ham, and using broccoli for bows. I also tried to use my mellon baller for our cantaloupe, and I wasn't having much luck with that!
